There is no doubt that everywhere today conflict is tearing people's lives apart. Drug use is ruining many of the youth of America and has created a society of evil that is rich and powerful beyond belief. Hundreds of thousands are caught up in the bondage of alcoholism.
Child molestation and murder is sickeningly commonplace. Spouse abuse, rape, assault, robbery, and every form of wrong doing one can name are filling the headlines. Partial birth abortions are accepted as normal medical procedures. Homosexuality is being called an acceptable alternate life style when God's word says clearly it is an abomination to Him. What is fueling all of this? The one simplest clear answer is sin. Disobedience to God's word is the major problem in the world today. Period. The churches of America are in sorry shape. Many sit empty and are for sale. Many have only a handful of members. Way too many don't even preach or teach from the Bible, or else they water it down to a "feel good" sermon.
We see a major split in America, and it is growing wider each day. No more is it Republican versus Democrat, or white against black, conservative opposite liberal, or even American fighting a foreign enemy. Today what we see is good versus evil. More so, those who uphold God's word against those who don't. Society is getting to the point where what is right is wrong, or bigoted, and evil is right, or acceptable. Satan is fighting a major battle, and his recruitment numbers are way up. According to the Bible, he knows his time is growing short and he intends on destroying as much and as many as he can while he can.
In Ephesians Chapter 6, verse 11, Paul tells us to put on the whole armour of God, so that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. In 12 he tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in HIGH places. Truer words could not be spoken, and we see this happening at an ever increasing pace. He goes on in verse 17 to tell us to take the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God, and in 18 to be praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit.
Now, today, people are falling away from this. They are saying this book is old fashioned, outdated, a fairy tale, or just a story book. With children not being raised in the right kind of church, parents not taking them to church, and Preachers who have not the true word of God but a lukewarm sermon designed not to "offend" anyone how can we expect better?
God's word is so true today just as it was yesterday and generations before. Why? God does not change. He does not stop what He has already planned. Our past, present AND future are all spelled out clearly. This mighty old book is simply a road map for life and a plan for our salvation. We are free to choose it or leave it alone. Far too many are leaving it and that is exactly why the world is in the shape it is in.
People are lustful, greedy, depraved, and given to evil compared to compassionate, loving, trustful and faithful. The spiritual needs of the people are being put asunder for wealth. Love of money has distorted the final picture. People will willingly sacrifice their very souls for a few hours of pleasure. No wonder the world is suffering so.
What has the Klan got to counter act this? Lots. We are not the evil wicked villains portrayed by Hollywood and the news media. We are all committed Christians seeking to bring others into the light, to lead them from the life of darkness, to stand firm on the word of God, and to see that His Holy Words are not put aside. We fight the forces of darkness, and if necessary the ones who defend them. No, we are not perfect, only changed sinners saved by grace. The words of Amazing Grace ring so true here. We will not accept second place in God's Kingdom, for we believe and accept what He has planned for us.
Todays leaders need to and had better wake up and get on the right track. Oh, the mighty and powerful. They play games and destroy to control others, with power and wealth meaning everything. The day is coming, and soon, that the power and wealth they wield will mean nothing. EVERY knee shall bend and EVERY head shall bow before Jesus Christ on His glorious return. NONE will doubt that He IS the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Woe be unto those who are not prepared and ready. They will face an eternity of suffering. Of wailing and gnashing of teeth. What will all of their ill gotten gain do for them then? Nothing. I can imagine no more sorrowful words than those coming from Jesus Christ saying depart you from me, I know you not.
Until then, we will do our best to follow Paul's teachings and to do all we can to honor and serve the Master. The day of His coming draws near. Are you ready?
